Frequently Asked Questions About Hypnosis

  • WHAT DOES HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?

Clients describe the experience as very relaxing and refreshing. In fact, 15 minutes of hypnosis has the same therapeutic benefits as 3 hours of sound sleep.

  • HOW LONG HAVE PEOPLE BEEN USING HYPNOSIS?

Unintentional hypnosis - daydreaming, for example - is as old as humankind. Intentional, or therapeutic hypnosis, has been used for thousands of years.

  • DO YOU TAKE CONTROL OF MY MIND?

No. Contrary to popular belief, you cannot use hypnosis to make people do anything they don't want to do. You tell me, as your consulting hypnotherapist, what you want to accomplish, and then I help you achieve it.

  • HOW DO YOU RELIEVE STRESS?

First, I provide immediate access to deep relaxation. I then teach you the techniques for relaxing on your own and help you become aware of when stress begins so you can defuse it.

  • HOW LONG IS A SESSION?

A typical session lasts 45 to 60 minutes and costs $150. I reduce that to $500 for four sessions when a client pays in advance. I record each session and provide that to my clients so that they have permanent tools to help them.

  • WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF HYPNOSIS?

    Hypnosis offers many benefits:

    • SPEED. Hypnosis achieves results much faster than other approaches for modifying behavior. Extinguishing a smoking habit, for example, typically takes four sessions.

    • RESULTS. Because we involve your subconscious mind - where your habits, emotions, and memories reside -, the changes are permanent. The success rate for permanently stopping smoking is over 80%, versus 5 to 10% for nicotine gum.

    • NO NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS. Hypnotherapy involves no drugs, so there are no interactions to worry about.

    • POSITIVE SIDE EFFECTS. Clients usually report they sleep and feel better. Hypnosis enhances both creativity and imagination, your most powerful tools for solving problems.

    • INCREASED CONFIDENCE. As you take control of your life with hypnosis and experience its positive side effects, your confidence naturally grows with your improved performance.

    • NO RISK. Your initial consultation is free, and your records and history are completely confidential.
